This Week at the Cathedral Christ Church Cathedral The Fourth Sunday After Pentecost PARISH NOTES Parking on Sunday and After-hours: In response to numerous requests regarding parking, we are happy to be able to announce that the owners of Skip’s Parking Lot (across 2nd Street from the Cathedral) and the two lots to the south of Cathedral Commons are graciously allowing those worshiping at the Cathedral and other visitors to use their lots as follows. Skip’s Parking Lot on 2nd St. may be used anytime on Sunday for parking. The two lots to the south of Cathedral Commons may be used both on Sunday and after normal business hours during the week. We hope this helps. Summer singing.....those interested in singing in the choir but are not able to do so during the year, are invited to join the Cathedral Choir during the summer months. No audition is required for the summer, so if you are interested, please contact Robert at robert@christchurchlouky.org. Be A Steward of God’s Kingdom: Your Cathedral Chapter and the Stewardship Team would like to invite you to join with us as we continue to be year round stewards of God’s Kingdom. With the arrival of the government economic stimulus checks, you have the opportunity to tithe an additional amount of money to support our parish’s work in the world. In honor of the Presiding Bishop’s recent visit and in light of the recent disasters in China and Myanmar, the Dean and the Chapter members have agreed to give 10% of the money collected to the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund. Donating is simple – when you write you check just put “Summer Stewards” in the memo line. You can also make a cash donation by putting the money in an envelope with “Summer Stewards” on the front. This way we can tally the accumulated total in order to calculate the amount that the Chapter will tithe on our behalf. Holy Land Trip in November: Calvary Episcopal Church and their rector The Rev. Ned Morris are planning a trip to Israel on November 3-14, 2008. They have invited the participation of Cathedral members. If you have interest in this trip opportunity to the Holy Land, please contact Dean Bourlakas by phone or email. Yoga Class: Christ Church Cathedral offers yoga classes on Tuesday evenings.
